S5 EP160: Keshia Tognazzini: Positive Hospital Birth/Private OB/Freebirth/Wild Pregnancy/Precipitous Labour/Predromal Labour/4.6kg Baby
On today’s episode I sit down with Keshia, one of the cohosts of The Road to Wisdom podcast, as we dive into her five unique birth experiences. Keshia’s journey into motherhood began with a hospital birth under the care of a private OB who had also delivered her and her siblings. Though her first birth was free of interventions and medication, it was only after meeting other mums and hearing their stories that she began to piece together the deeper aspects of childbirth and its lasting impact.
Her path took an unexpected turn during her second pregnancy when her father’s illness and passing coincided with the birth of her son. Her third birth, a freebirth at home, mirrored her previous experience and left her with a deep sense that, although two children had been the original plan, the presence of a fourth child—a daughter—was unmistakable. Today, we explore how she navigated her fourth birth during COVID, her experience with stop-and-start labour, and the 25-minute speedy entrance of her fifth baby.
This is a story filled with wonder, wisdom, and a glimpse into Keshia’s deepest experiences, which she shares in full over on The Road to Wisdom podcast.
